Glasgow is served by two airports - Glasgow International
and Glasgow Prestwick. Glasgow International Airport Getting to the City Centre from the airport Coach travel is the least expensive method of travel, single tickets can be purchased from the driver for a few pounds. A taxi from the airport will cost you more, from £20 depending on the area of the city you are travelling to. The taxi rank is outside domestic arrivals (photograph above). This is well managed and the taxis are usually clean and comfortable. You can get a small transfer coach to the near by rail station at Paisley and then onwards to the City or elsewhere on to the West Coast. Contact information Airport car hire with AVIS
Glasgow Prestwick International
Airport Getting to the City Centre from the airport The advantage of Prestwick is that it has a rail link to Glasgow City Centre. Low cost fares are offered to passengers who have flown into the airport. Presently, you pay only £5 return for a rail ticket that takes you to Glasgow Central. This is a 25 min journey and the station is at the main terminal. A short walk from the train and you are at the check in desks. Car parking is also much lower than Glasgow International Airport. Coaches from the airport to the City operate on a regular basis. Contact information |
