The Merchant City is becoming very popular. During the 1980's it was a trendy place to live, large appartments and good restaurants attracted young professionals.
In the 1990's it has continued to develop, recreating the cobbled streets and the refurbishment of the Fruitmarket area.
The restaurants are a mixture of Mexican, Scottish and French. An enjoyable evening can be had staying in the Merchant City.
